The NAHS Bylaws state that we are to do one or more service project(s) each year. For the 2006-2007 school year we are doing the following projects:

Textbook Scholarship

We will be offering a textbook scholarship for winners of an essay contest. Write a 500 word essay on the topic "How does higher education make you a role model in your community?"
The due date will be March 28th, 2007 for Fall Scholarships.
Prize amounts are $300 for first place and $200 for second place.
Turn in your essay to Myra in the NAC or Dr. Orr in Noble 240.

Student Bring-Up Project

Native students from Montezuma-Cortez High School in Cortez, Colorado have expressed interest in visiting Fort Lewis, but do not have the funds to make the trip. In coordination with the other clubs at the NAC we raised money to help the students make the trip.

The students arrive on campus on Thursday, March 29, 2007. They will be meeting and taking part in several of the Hizhoni Days activities and taking a campus tour.
